Meet The Doctors
Originally from New York, he moved with his family to metro Atlanta as a child. Dr. Patrick has since moved away four times, but Georgia keeps calling him back. It was on one of his hiatuses from Georgia that he decided to attend chiropractic school. While living in southern California, he was impressed with how the community prioritized taking care of themselves, particularly through diet, exercise, and routine chiropractic care. Having been to a chiropractor since childhood, Dr. Patrick explored the possibility of attending chiropractic school. Dr. Patrick completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life University in Marietta, GA.
Dr. Patrick has extensive training in multiple techniques and utilizes his various skills depending on the needs of each particular patient. His focus is specific adjustments to restore the structure of the spine in order to help the body return to and maintain optimal function. Additionally, he is certified in Webster Technique, which allows him to provide effective chiropractic care to expectant mothers throughout pregnancy.
Dr. Patrick lives locally with his wife Kristina and their two daughters. When not adjusting or with his family, he enjoys spending time playing volleyball and golf.
Dr. Claude Maysonet is a dedicated and passionate chiropractor who joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2023 when he became a part of the Canton team. He was raised in the vibrant city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he also earned his Bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology.
Chiropractic care has been a part of Dr. Claude's life since he was born. He received his first adjustment just hours after his birth. Growing up, he witnessed the transformative results achieved by his uncle and aunt, both skilled chiropractors, especially in patients dealing with scoliosis. This exposure led to his interest in the profession and he decided to pursue his own doctorate at Life University and specialized in the treatment of spinal deformities.
Dr. Claude is a strong believer in the power of chiropractic care and its influence on the nervous system. He firmly believes in using the vertebrae as a tool to aid in the full restoration of health, making a profound impact on people's lives. His dedication to helping patients regain their health and well-being shines through in his work.
As he puts it, "The best thing about working as a chiropractor is being able to help people get back to doing the things they love without pain or restriction." I find joy in seeing the changes in posture from babies to elderly and see their smiles as they walk out feeling better and realigned.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Claude enjoys going on hikes, camping, kayaking trips, road trips, and beach outings with his energetic Beagle named Ella.
One of the coolest things he has experienced was when he participated in two autopsies at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus as part of his anatomy education.
Dr. Shayla Italo was born and raised in Woodstock, GA. Dr. Shayla received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from Life University in 2015 where she decided to continue her education at Life University, one of the country’s most renowned schools for chiropractic studies. After completion of her preceptorships, Dr. Shayla earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree in March 2021 with a specialty in spinal biomechanics and a focus on family and wellness care.
Dr. Shayla joined The Joint Chiropractic team of local healthcare providers back in November 2022 and is now one of our full-time doctors at our Canton location. She is passionate about natural healthcare and stays up to date on the latest health-related research. Dr. Shayla says, "The human body is incredibly intelligent. There is no mistake in its design. Once you get down to the root cause of WHY something is happening within the body, you have a better understanding of how to support it to function optimally."
She is committed to attending chiropractic training seminars and workshops to further grow as a healthcare provider and perfect her craft.

Dr. Shayla enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and playing with her animals. She has 2 dogs named Maggie & Marla, 3 cats named Sheva, Rengoku, & Nero, and a turtle named Waffle. Her favorite place she's visited is Cape Town, South Africa. Dr. Shayla loves food and is always looking to try unique dishes from around the world.
